This is so good!

so glad you enjoyed it, thanks!

i literally never comment on stuff like itch but this was insanely good i had so much fun :)

that means a lot, thanks for playing!!

Great Game! Really enjoyed playing it.

thanks and thanks for playing!

At some point I was unable to buy stuff from the shop despite having enough mana. I assume I hit some kind of limit? it would be nice if that were displayed so it's clearer why you can't buy stuff.

Yes, there's a Glyph limit, but there's also a modifier for Glyphs, Shadowed, that makes them not count towards this. I understood only this glyph limit because I found one of those early, if I'm honest.

Ah thanks for posting this, it made me realise I’ve accidentally hidden the current/max glyph counter from the UI but I’ll get it added back in for the next patch, maybe along with a popup when you try and buy one at max. Thanks!

This game feels amazing.

Hello, If you could, could you provide an html download for the game? I would like to host it through a vps server so I can play it at school. Thanks!

Kenny, this game is almost amazing. but the physics system feels so busted compared to something like Demon’s Tilt. it’s nearly impossible to consistently make shots in this, even before all the modifiers.

I really love the concept, I just hope you can fix the physics so it feels like pinball, and not just completely out of control at all times.

(I’ve got a 240hz monitor, so maybe there’s something with the timings that’s busted at higher frame rates? I dunno, it just feels completely impossible to make shots as things are)

(+1)

Hey, I completely agree! The phyics has been a major bugbear for ages but almost everytime I try and address it, it ends up getting worse and I end up undoing all my changes. I'm clamping the ball speed at a really high rate for example, which means consecutive bouncing goes absolutely nuts, but lowering it causes the inital flipper contact not to apply enough force to get the ball up fast enough. And I'll not even start on some of the horrid angles the ball travels in from the flippers.

The right 'feel' is just such a hard thing to get right. Demons Tilt and Xenotilt are both a huge influence on this game (they completely melted my brain and retinas though so I actually kinda set out to create something a bit more chill and easier to follow for an amateur) and I do boot them up every now and again to compare how things feel, and CoP is always left feeling lacklustre by comparison.

I'm on it though, I will get the feeling right at some point if even it kills me! The next update has some minor changes to this, let me know if you see any imporvement but in my heart I know it's still way off.

honestly fantastic response, and I love both those games so much, so you’re definitely aiming for the right targets!

I’ll definitely give you feedback after the next release, for sure, and let you know how it feels compared to right now, since I feel like nailing the game feel is really the key to making this game a bit of a breakaway hit.

I love everything else you’re doing here, so I’ll definitely wishlist it on steam, now that I know how passionate you are about getting the feel right. keep it up! 😁

thank you so much that means a lot, I will do!

sadly, a chromebook can not run this well :[

Ah that's a shame, I do have a graphics settings menu coming in the next update (within a week or so) which should allow for lowering resolution, texture quality etc. Hopefully that will help!

I cant wait to see :]

gonna play on something other than a Mac so I dont have to use safari then I will comment here later

ive been missing out

Hey, I did try to get a fix up for safari but clearly it's not working. Mac build is on the way though, the next update will include a (very untested) first attempt, if you could let me know if it works I'd be hugely grateful! Should be later this week hoepfully

(+1)

ok ill try it out when I can thanks

This is GREAT!

Love this, thank you so much for making it!

yo this is pinball at its PEAK 🔥

hahaha thank you!! 🔥🔥

Super fun and nice graphics!

This is great fun! and the visuals are gorgeous!! Awesome work!

Awesome, so glad to hear it thanks for playing!

SK/CZ LET'S PLAY!!!

I remember when I was a kid and played Pinball on the old Microsoft XP Professional. That was kind of experience. I imagined it as that ball is the space ship and it is shooting the enemies and monsters, going on different planets and so...

This game put me back into that kid's nostalgia, but it hit differently this time. Now it was like I was imagining it back then! Of course it is not a space ship nor space themed table, but it was really close to that imagined experience.

REALLY GREAT GAME, KEEP IT UP!!!

HOPEFULLY YOU WILL RELEASE IT ASAP ON STEAM AND OTHER PLATFORMS SO YOU CAN START MAKING PROFIT OF IT!

GREAT CONCEPT AND GREAT GAME!!!

(+1)

that was the exact inspiration for this! I’m so glad it resonated with you, and I’m 100% planning on a Steam (and other platforms) launch, the page is in the description - feel free to give it a wishlist :P !

I have wishlisted it, so it will boost your game

(+1)

thank you SO much!

not bad, kinda wish the boss had slightly different modifiers tho

thanks for playing! Tbh I tried to combine multiple traits from the smaller bumpers into one for the boss (things like moving + pushes ball away etc) but it never quite felt right so I ended up with the tentacles approach instead. What kind of modifiers were you thinking? Agree that it could do with something else going on I just can’t think of what!

Awesome concept, this game is really fun and catchy. Are you planning a release outside steam also?

(+1)

hey thats awesome to hear, thank you! Yeah I’m planning on a few platforms but will post more about those when I can confirm when :)

I really like the concept of the game, but couldn't really play cause I don't have a mouse atm. Could there be a way that you could change the setting to were you can change the keybinds or something like that?

hey hey, you should be able to play with just a Keyboard (or controller) with left/right CTRL for flippers and Space to nudge, all of which can be rebound from the Settings Menu (press Esc, Controls - Keyboard). Let me know if you have any issues with any of that and I’ll do what I can to help!

(+1)

I really like the idea, it's really nice !

Thank you! I’ve still got a lot to add so hopefully it’ll be even better soon

been a very long time since i enjoyed a pinball. like early windows era.

great take on it, cool art too and the mods and rng pickups and stuff make pinball way more fun

thank you thank you! And also thanks for playing :)

Cool game, but WAY too many pop-ups in my face while I'm trying to just play.

(+1)

Hey hey, thanks for playing! Good point and you're the second to say so, I'll need to work on cutting it back a bit. My current thinking is that the time it takes between acts is way too short, so yeah there's a blessing or a shop popup every minute or two, tops. I'm also having second thoughts about the rituals showing a massive, full screen text popup when they trigger... I'll see what I can do, thanks for the feedback!

(1 edit)

For me the shop popups were less of a problem, because it pauses the game, but the power popups do get in the way. Maybe try moving the text up and increase the effect around the screen. That way you still get the oomph when getting them but it doesnt cover the table

Also, you probably have something like this, but maybe make more dynamic bosses, or different bosses, just to get a bit more of replayability

Otherwise great game

yeah I’ve tried exactly that and it plays so much better, thanks for the suggestion! The bosses are different for each table in that they disappear under different circumstances - for example on one of them, when the boss appears the bumpers are replaced with special ones that remove/hide a boss tentacle when hit, rather than hitting the tentacles themselves to remove them like the first table. I’d like to add something else to the bosses, I feel they’re missing something but I just don’t quite know what it is yet (any suggestions are very welcome!)

So cool !!!

Thanks, and thank you for playing!

(+1)

Super cool game. I might be stupid but the amount of text in the tutorial is kind of overwhelming. When i got to Act V, the boss appeared, i got the inferno and 2 balls, stuff went crazy and the game turns red. Anyways, super fun game definitely gonna check out the 1.0 release

Hey, thanks for this, tutorials are always a pain as it's a balance between getting it over and done with quickly while still making sure you know what to do by the end of it. I'll see if I can ease up on the wording a bit, I'm sure not all of it is necessary! And yeah, I've kind ran into the problem of the rituals generally  all triggering around about the same point in the game, making things a bit overwhelming at points, I'll work on it though I'm just not sure what to do about it yet :)

I think I would have appreciated a tour of the table, so to speak.

The special attacks are activated when you accomplish certain things on the table, but they're represented through little symbols that I have no idea what they mean.

Can I like pause the game and mouse over the symbols and it highlights the part of the table I'm supposed to be aiming for?

This is a great idea, I usually play/test with a controller so I hadn’t thought about mouse-over for something like this (although I’d still like something similar that works for controller as well), I’ll have a think - thanks for the suggestion!

Why can't I see anything?

is this the tutorial? Very strange, that should NOT be happening! If starting over doesn’t work, you can press Esc to pause the game when the tutorial loads and hit ‘skip tutorial’ and you should hopefully at least be able to play a table like normal. Hopefully…

this was so much fun, definitely wishlisting it!

the tutorial made me quite a bit dizzy and I did not understand what was going on at all, but three games later I was getting the hang of it and won :

Nice, well done! I’ll take a look and see if I can make the tutorial a bit clearer, not everyone will persevere like you did, thank you for playing!

nice!!!

Thanks for playing! :)

This is so fun. Really captures all the nostalgic joy of the old pinball game and upgrades it massively with a cool theme, fantastic visuals and new gameplay elements. Love this.

(+1)

thank you, the old pinball games are absolutely the inspiration for this - space cadet, pinball dreams etc. So glad you enjoyed it, thanks!

This is amazing. i played the windows xp pinball soooo much. didnt know this game could be reinvented but i stand corrected.

10/10

me too! Core childhood memories for me, so it’s been great fun turning them into something new, and it’s so nice to hear you think it’s living up to it, thank you!

absolutely fun to play. Once I start playing, can't stop until the game is over. Very addictive.

Yeah I can get carried away playing instead of doing game dev sometimes, which I guess is a good sign? Thanks so much for playing

Will we get a Linux version?

(+2)

Iit’s in the works! MacOS as well, hopefully within the next few weeks but I’ll need some help with testing if you feel up for it :P

(+1)

I'm down for it, I am running Linux Mint Cinnamon

(1 edit) (+2)

~4,000,000 score on first run.

also like 7 unlocks???

fun game.

That’s way higher than what I usually get :) amazing, thanks for playing!

(+1)

W game. Amazing fusion of a rougelite and pinball cant wait to see what else is added in the future

Thank you, and thanks for playing!  Yeah there is a lot still to be added and balanced, scope creep is sneaking up on me though so I need to calm down with the ideas soon :)

(+1)

So much fun! Pinball at its best!

The idea of combining pinball with roguelike mechanics is so cool! While it was a little overloading at first, eventually I got the hang of it and felt like I could start strategizing when I went to the shop. Adding in bosses and events was so much fun; despite this being the same board you're playing on over and over, it never feels repetitive.

Can't wait to try the full game!

This brought me so much joy :) thank you for sharing I'm so glad you enjoyed playing!

(+2)

This is insane. It feels extremely polished and clean, well done!

One small remark: the music itself is phenomenal, but the timing of it felt slightly off (e.g. the boss battle music started playing 5 seconds after the boss has spawned for me and sometimes there were gaps where no music played at all (also for a few seconds before playing again))

thank you so much! Haha yeah the music setup is pretty basic at the moment, a full audio rework is high on the to-do list for sure

Hey Kenny,

Do you have (thought about making) a discord server for the game? Would love to help (bug reports for an example) and im sure more people would.

hey hey, yeah I did think about it but I was worried it’d just be me and some cricket sounds :) I might make one soon, I wasn’t expecting the game to get this much attention tbh, although the feedback and bug reports over the last three weeks will keep me busy for a long time I imagine. I’ll post here if I get the time to do it. And also, thanks for playing!

No worries, just thought about it.

Would love to help in any way if possible :)

Had fun! definitely adding to my wishlist i do wonder if later down the line if a mobile release would be possible

Ooft that’s a chunky score, well done! I’d love to do mobile my only concern is the UI readability. If it’s a success on PC/Console I’ll give it a shot for sure

Apparently the formula for a bad pinball player to win is to get multiball and just go crazy with the clicking lmao. Great game.

Nice! Well done and thank you so much for playing

I somehow broke it lmao

Eep. If you let me know what happened I can take a look!

it was most likely on me, cause i opened the game for the first time and immediatly went into settings while the tutorial loaded lol

Which is something you have every right to do :) It's my job to make sure that you can, so I'll take a look and see if I can fix it, thank you for letting me know!

who up pinning they balls

man great work
